Trespass
The title of collection describes the approachment of two disciplines. The fashion designer Anita Steinwidder and the plastic artist Matthias Winkler have designed a collection that combines Winkler’s artistic work with STEINWIDDER’s creations. The careful yet decisive merging of the works of one another and their junction create those aesthetics.
Affinities in the art of surface connect the plastics of Matthias Winkler with the three dimensional mantels of the label STEINWIDDER. The choice of similar materials and colour composition, the care in workmanship as well as aesthetic resemblances are the substructure for the collective project.
In her current project orientated collections STEINWIDDER subjects socks and hosiery to diverse manufacturing processes, converting them into eccentrical garments, while Matthias Winkler uses old clothes in combination with found objects for his organic sculptures. The collection Trespass includes STEINWIDDER’s designs, designs of Matthias Winkler and newly joint developed ones. It also introduces a new material to STEINWIDDER’s flavoured old socks and hosiery – used jersey.
The whole collection, consisting entirely of remade-design is produced in Vienna. It is to be viewed as a project-oriented collection of exclusive and unique pieces, that may be extended and amended to include associatively related designs at any time. Reproductions are created in limited series, showing affine characteristics.
